The webinar by Silvia Ballabio, who has been teaching English literature in Licei for more than thirty years and is the author of textbooks for English literature for all courses, starts from the notion that emotional intelligence is correlated to success in effective teaching, student learning and academic performance. Positive emotional ability is not only an important factor for the mental health of adolescents but it also improves their learning ability. In DDI or DAD or post DDI and DAD learning environments a special care should be given to reinforcing emotional skills. The webinar will introduce a few examples in particular from William Shakespeare’s work Hamlet to show how the 3Es methodology (Empathy, Emotion and Education) can work in a virtuous circle to reactivate the learners’ learning skills, improve their academic performance and enrich their emotional life.

Docente per molti anni di letteratura inglese nei licei, ha svolto attività di formazione docenti in collaborazione con Principato e varie associazioni e collaborato con case editrici per la redazione di testi CLIL nel settore scientifico. Per Principato ha curato la riduzione di Pride and Prejudice (livello B2), collaborato con Alessandra Brunetti all’ideazione e realizzazioni dei percorsi tematici di Roots, Roots Plus e The Fire and The Rose, ed è autrice del corso di letteratura inglese Enjoy! (in due volumi e in volume unico).
